Celebrate Respect History Project

Since February 2022, WonderZoo has been archiving the Plymouth Respect Festival, which is an annual multi-cultural celebration of diversity in Plymouth, UK, founded by Ann Wilkinson and Dan Thompson in 1998.

This project aims to collect oral history interviews with those involved over the years, as well as historical artefacts, such as photos, videos, artworks, and costumes, in order to preserve its memories for posterity.

This two year project is funded by National Lottery Heritage Fund, in partnership with the Respect Festival, Plymouth and Devon Racial Equality Council and The Box Museum.

If anyone is reading this and has artefacts or information they'd like to share with us, please get in touch. If you'd like to be interviewed about your experiences, however large or small they may be, we'd love you to get involved. Contact wonderzooarts@gmail.com
